Professor Mitra is a full-time Emergency Physician, director of emergency medicine research at the Alfred Care Group, and head of the Emergency Research Unit at the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine, Monash University. Prof Mitra is a member of the clinical research and ethics committee for Australian Red Cross Lifeblood. He oversees an active research program focused on the resuscitation of patients with critical bleeding.
