Australian pharmacy education is undergoing significant reform, with universities, accreditation bodies, healthcare providers and regulators preparing for changes that will shape the future pharmacy workforce over the next 3 to 5 years. These reforms include the transition from Bachelor of Pharmacy to Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) models, increased work-integrated learning and clinical placement requirements, evolving accreditation and credentialling frameworks, and growing expectations that graduates are prepared for expanded and full-scope practice. This workshop will bring together university leaders, representatives from the Australian Pharmacy Council (APC), hospital pharmacy stakeholders, educators and students to explore the implications of these changes for workforce development, placement capacity, graduate readiness and partnerships between universities, accreditation bodies and health services. The inclusion of APC representatives will provide participants with the opportunity to discuss emerging accreditation standards, credentialling frameworks and future expectations directly with the national accreditation body, supporting a shared understanding of the changes required to prepare the future pharmacy workforce.
